With the very positive outcome and much appreciation from our partners in country following our program in May 2012, we are aiming at another deployment this coming May to deliver and distribute water filters and Aquatabs to the residents on the floating villages of Tonle Sap lake. This will be phase 2 of our ongoing long-term commitment to provide families on all the floating villages with FREE and CLEAN drinking water.

During the next deployment our team will also continue building the partnership with Angkor Hospital for Children. The goal is to set up a one or two day mobile clinic following a one day recon. Villagers in need of medical aid who normally do not have the means to get to a medical facility will be transported to a make-shift clinic off the lake where our team members will assess them and if needed transport them to the local hospitals. If the need is not great for medical aid on the floating villages we will look at villages on land surrounding Siem Reap. This is a trial program to determine our needs for when we submit an appliation with CIDA for long-term funding in order to run a full capacity Mobile Medical Clinic. In addition to this, the Angkor Hospital for Children is in need of a computerized database for patient tracking as they currently still rely on paper form filing. Every day over 500 patients come into the hospital, to date there are over one million files. We have offered to design and program a customized database for the hospital which will also be accessible by their doctors and nurses who do patient follow-up visits in remote villages. Patient files wil be accessible in the field on tablets, showing x-rays, medical history and more.

We will also continue our support of the Chres Orphanage. Although this is primarily a water-based deployment with a medical attachment, team members will spend a couple of days at the orphanage to follow up with the kids and to assess any new medical, water or hygien needs. Team members will purhcase school supplies, medical and hygiene products, as well as spend a day doing re-fresher basic first aid training with a handful of the older kids.

The team will consist of 6 volunteers and 2 team leads. This will allow two teams to be created in the field.
